Christmas

I really did not get a whole lot of Christmas pics. I think with having little kids, trying to open presents, keep track of everything and dealing with a whole host of other family, it's not something I really thought too much about. But I did manage to get some close ups of our tree that came out nice. So I will post those. Heh. I was hoping for more, but I guess sometimes you take what you can get, when you can get it. Hopefully the new year will bring many more opportunities to get some good pictures in.

OK some more random shots. The landscape is a scene that greeted us on the way home the other day. I actually only cleaned it up slightly, it was a beautiful sunset. I wish we could have seen more of it. The other is just a random shot I took and edited. I hope you like them. Christmas pics will be coming next week so make sure to check back. Thanks!

Changing Seasons

Sorry it has been so long between posts. Things are a kinda crazy this time of year. Winter in the desert is pretty mild, and we are just now starting to see the leaves change on the trees. It's beautiful... all the colors. I should have some more "traditional" Christmas pics to post in the next week, but I really wanted to get these up. :)

Things I am most thankful for...

Here is my list of the 10 things I am most thankful for:
1: A God who is merciful and gracious... even when I am not.
2: A husband who loves me, even in my most unlovable moments.
3: Happy children that are growing and learning every day.
4: A supportive and loving extended family who never ceases to amaze me that they have been so accepting all these years.
5:Wonderful friends who are there when you need them. (Even when you don't realize how much you need them.)
6: Being able to stay at home and homeschool my children.
7: My husband's job.
8: Modern medicine (anyone who has read this blog for the last year may be aware we have been struggling with a LOT of sickness in our house... so this one makes sense. LOL)
9: Modern technology (aka my computer and blackberry). This has allowed me to find and stay in touch with family and friends I would have lost contact with otherwise.
10: A God who is merciful and gracious. (Seems appropriate to begin and end with this one.)

There is much to be thankful for today and everyday. I hope everyone has a blessed and wonderful day of thankfulness, rest and turkey. Happy Thanksgiving!

More zoo photos

Here are some photos from out trip to our local zoo. We got to see the Komodo dragons for the first time. Interesting creatures... it's like they can stare a hole right through you. Anyway lots of animals and flowers to see and photograph. The zoo is always lots of fun!

Flowers and a goose

The weather is still nice here so we spent some time at the zoo. Here are some of the flowers that are still in bloom... as well as a good shot of a goose.

Newest additions

Here are some photos of the newest additions to our family: Ming-Ming and Tuck. Not the greatest pics, I am still working on getting a better vantage point, but I thought they were cute none-the-less. :)

Fall pumpkins

Happy Fall!! We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday and had so much fun trying to find the "right" pumpkin. The last one was just part of the farm, an old pump, but I thought it looked interesting so I took a photo.

Dragon Fly

I have actually never seen a dragonfly this up close, so this was quite a treat when my hubby spotted this one just sitting there. He made for some great pictures, and even my kids got a kick out of seeing one so up close.

Car

I love the way old cars look. They remind me of a by-gone era. Here are two photos of same thing taken seconds apart, yet two totally different looks.

Interesting

This bird was one of the more interesting animals we saw at the zoo yesterday. It was hanging out with the ducks, and was certainly not afraid of people. In fact it liked my daughter because she kept dropping cheerios off her stroller... LOL. But to be honest, I am not even sure what it is called. Well, it certainly makes for an interesting photo.

Flowers

I thought these came out quite nice. :) Enjoy!

More summer fun

These were actually taken 2 years ago, but recently edited. But I figured I'd post them since it's summer... and summer means you get out in the water as much as possible... LOL! Enjoy!

Monsters and mirrors

These were from a trip to a local children's museum. The theme was monsters... the black light room was so very cool! I also love places that have an area just for the little ones. :)

Summer

This one reminds me of summer... feet dangling in the nice cool water. Ahhh the lazy days of summer.

Oldies but goodies

Ok to make up for taking so long to post the last few months I am posting again. I was going through some of my older photos and came across these. After a tweak here and there I decided I would post them. I hope you like them.
